School Holidays

   Term I ended on Friday and the kids are now out of school until April 28th on school holidays (as they say here rather than break).  They went to a sailing/windsurfing/kayaking/stand-up paddle boarding camp for four days and really enjoyed it.  The weather was gorgeous and they loved trying new things on the water, right here in Balmoral. 

Mia's favorite activity was sailing, but not particularly her cursing French mate!

Even right by the beach, we don't see many pelicans.  This guy/gal was really big compared to the brown pelicans we are used to seeing on the East Coast.

Crazy that this is mid-autumn!

So, so glad we brought the dog.

     I had no trouble getting the kids home from camp today when I mentioned that there was a large package waiting for them.  They tore into and were thrilled!  Thanks so much to Alli and Catherine (and Anne and Jeff) and other great friends back home who have sent us goodies!! 

   Tomorrow we head down to Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road for about 4 days - our first trip beyond Sydney.  Looking forward to it!
